A. Kathryn Fox is a partner in the law firm of Fox & Bank LLP. Ms. Fox is a Certified Specialist in Family Law (certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California) who has been a practicing attorney since 1986. Ms. Fox practices all aspects of family law mediation, litigation and collaborative law. Ms. Fox limits her practice to Contra Costa County, Alameda County and San Francisco County.

Before forming Fox & Bank LLP, Ms. Fox was an attorney with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, which was a nationwide law firm of over 400 attorneys. At Brobeck, Ms. Fox handled a range of complicated family law cases, as well as probate and trust administration and estate planning matters. Prior to joining Brobeck, Ms. Fox was a Staff Attorney with the Community Law Center (now the Law Center for Families), a private, nonprofit law firm that specialized in family law and probate matters. Ms. Fox served as a Judicial Extern to Justice Joseph Grodin of the California Supreme Court (1986).

Ms. Fox is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She is a member of the Contra Costa County, Alameda County and San Francisco County Bar Associations, and is a member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists. Ms. Fox was a member of the Board of Directors of the Family Law Section of the Contra Costa Bar Association (2002-2004) and is currently a member of the Programs Committee of the Family Law Section. Ms. Fox has served on legislative and bar committees and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Law Center for Families (formerly the Community Legal Aid Society of Alameda County and the Community Law Center; 1998-2001).

Ms. Fox graduated summa cum laude from Dominican University (B.A. Psychology, 1982) where she received the Outstanding Student Award. She earned her doctorate degree in law from the University of San Francisco (J.D. magna cum laude, 1986), where she received the Dean's Award (graduated first in class). Ms. Fox was a senior staff member of the University of San Francisco Law Review.

Ms. Fox has lectured on a number of family law topics. She is the co-author of "Don't Worry - Be Careful: Liability Issues in the Drafting and Reviewing of Premarital Agreements," Contra Costa Lawyer, Vol. 13, No. 5, pp. 16-21, May, 2000. She is the author of "Toward a Constitutional Determination of Residency for California Income Tax Purposes," 20 U.S.F.L.Rev. 289 (1986).
